What is the Harvest Collective?

The Harvest Collective, a Black Food Sovereignty initiative at the Urban Farm, is for members of the Black Faculty & Staff Community Network at TMU to share in the harvest of culturally significant crops grown on the rooftop of the DCC.

This program will take place weekly, on Wednesdays throughout the month of August, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. After the harvest, members are welcome to stay to enjoy the rooftop space through the lunch hour during the DCC Summer Open Farm Stand (so bring your lunch!).

Each week members will leave with a variety of freshly harvested, seasonal crops that are culturally significant across the African diaspora. The cost to participate in the Harvest Collective is only $10 per week!

Registration and payments to join the Harvest Collective will close at noon on Tuesdays the day before each session. Paticipants are welcome to register for any combination of individual weeks or for the entire season.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the nature of the operations of the Urban Farm, your Harvest Collective registration is non-refundable. If you cannot attend a session and wish to reschedule for another day, please let us know a minimum of 24hours in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. If you are not able to reschedule, you will receive a credit for the Farm Stand, or you may choose to receive an equivalent amount of produce at a future scheduled date. Any cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will not receive a Farm Stand nor produce credit. Thank you for your understanding.
