Morning class will move through floorwork to looping phrases that pass from floor to standing and back again. We’ll follow anatomical and gravitational pathways to play with momentum and balance. We’ll dissect initiation points, micro-openings, and directional shifts that give way to finding individual phrasing within larger structures and sequences. Over the week, as phrases expand, we’ll explore efficiency and range to build endurance and capacity for play in the body.
The afternoon workshop will investigate ways of opening up movement possibility through practices that engage with imagery, time, and the senses in various ways. We will work with different approaches to spontaneous creation, with a particular mind to collective focus, interaction, and presence. Tuning in individually and building on our developing skills together, we will listen as a group to what emerges, working together to arrive at a score by the week’s end.
If spaces are still available, a drop-in option will be possible in December. Priority given to those who register for the whole week. If you have any questions, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
